A little bit about this venue
IThe Barn at Pengelly is a modern, purpose-built wedding venue set on a working farm just outside Truro, surrounded by rolling Cornish countryside, lakes and open fields.
It has that lovely mix of contemporary and relaxed. There’s a dedicated Glam Room with plenty of natural light for getting ready, beautiful outdoor ceremony space overlooking the grounds, lots of indoor space if the weather turns, and a big open-plan barn that really comes into its own once the evening party gets going.
It works particularly well for larger weddings because there’s space for everyone without the day ever feeling cramped or overly formal.

Why I love it
Pengelly is one of those venues where I’m never short of somewhere brilliant to take you for photographs.
The lake, surrounding fields, terraces and open countryside give us loads of options without ever having to disappear miles away from your guests. The iconic steps are also fantastic for group photographs, confetti and sparkler runs, while the quieter corners around the grounds are perfect if we want to sneak away for five minutes together.
But one of my favourite things about photographing weddings here is the team. They’re bubbly, enthusiastic and genuinely invested in making every wedding feel special. That makes such a difference to the whole atmosphere of the day, and it’s always a pleasure working alongside them.
It also happens to be one of my closest wedding venues, so I know the place really well and can make the most of whatever the light, weather and timeline give us.

The Barn at Pengelly is a fantastic choice if you want a relaxed Cornish wedding venue with plenty of space, beautiful surroundings and the flexibility to make the day feel completely your own.
You’ve got the lakes, fields, outdoor ceremony space, loads of indoor room, brilliant party space and a team who genuinely care about making the day memorable.
And from a photography point of view, it gives me everything I need to create a really varied set of images without dragging you away from your wedding for ages.
I actually think this structure is better for Pengelly than the copy I gave you before, because these chunks fit the Avalen template much more naturally and each section has a very clear purpose.
