It was a gorgeous, sunny day when I met Heather and Owen for their pre-wedding shoot in Polruan. We spent a lovely couple of hours checking out some stunning locations near their reception venue. A fair bit of time was also spent having a chat about life, wedding plans and our children. I’d done some Christmas photos of their gorgeous toddler a few months before.
We spotted the outdoor gym equipment and thought it would make a good, fun shot on their wedding day.
The great thing about the pre wedding shoot is that they could pick which locations to use on the day. The wedding came, I arrived at St Austell registry office, said hi to everyone in-between the usual nervous smiles and Owen dashing off to meet with the registrar.
The registry office is lovely and bright with gorgeous cherry blossom trees that I always like to shoot through.
After the ceremony we all set off for Polruan down tiny back lanes. It was worth the winding drive when we saw the stunning views of the harbour and over the river to Fowey.
After we’d done the group shots we went through the fields and onto the rocks to recreate some of the best shots from the pre-wedding shoot. All feeling comfortable and happy because we’d done the ground work a few weeks before.
The reception was absolutely gorgeous, lawn games, riotous dancing and the most amazing tray bakes I’ve ever seen.
After Heather and Owen had their first dance (a moment I always find incredibly touching) and shared the dance floor with family and friends, I left them to enjoy the rest of their day and begin their married life together.
Congratulations Heather and Owen, what a beautiful wedding.
